Why i am interested in mathamatics

 Recently, i've been wrting a SOP essay to apply for an mathematical program. In this SOP essay, there're a few paragraphs talking about why and how i like math and when i did fall in love with this field. I'll post these paragraphs on my blog after the program.

My passion for mathematics ignited four years ago when I discovered a Vietnamese translation of Wacław Sierpiński’s Elementary Number Theory. This book inspired me to delve deeper into the subject, fostering a dream of becoming a mathematician. Since then, I have dedicated myself to self-study, tackling Olympiad problems and exploring the intricacies of mathematical structures. This proactive approach has led me to formulate results such as: “Given an odd positive integer n, the group of reversible elements in Zn under multiplication modulo n is the direct product of p-Sylow subgroups.” This finding, a corollary of the Fundamental Theorem of Finite Abelian Groups, illuminated my path toward modern algebra and motivated me to explore further in this area.
